SheTrades Rwanda Hub
About the
SheTrades Rwanda Hub
The SheTrades Rwanda Hub was launched in September 2021 under the framework of the SheTrades Rwanda Project, part of the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF)-funded “Project to Enhance the Effectiveness and Efficiency of Export Growth Initiatives”, managed by the Rwandan Ministry of Trade and Industry (MINICOM).
Hosted by Private Sector Federation – Specialized Cluster, formerly known as the PSF Chamber of Women Entrepreneurs, the SheTrades Rwanda Hub was established in partnership with the International Trade Centre’s – a joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization – flagship Women and Trade Programme, the SheTrades Initiative.
The SheTrades Rwanda Hub serves as a resource centre for Rwandan women entrepreneurs. It adopts a three-pronged approach to ensure that the right conditions and capacities are in place for women-led businesses to thrive in international trade:
- Equipping women entrepreneurs with market-relevant skills and knowledge and facilitating their access to market and investment opportunities
- Bringing together a community of partners (e.g. business support organizations, corporations, development partners, etc) and harnessing synergies to improve the business and trade environment for women
- Advocating for gender-inclusive policy reforms nationally

About the VIBE Programme
In partnership with Mastercard Foundation, TradeMark Africa (TMA) and the International Trade Centre (ITC) are jointly implementing a five-year Value-added Initiative to Boost Employment (VIBE) Programme. The VIBE Programme aims to increase dignified employment, particularly among excluded groups such as women, youth, refugees, and people living with disabilities in Rwanda.
Through its flagship programme on women and trade, the SheTrades Initiative, ITC is working with 150 women-led businesses in Rwanda’s horticulture sector so they can become more competitive, access new market opportunities, and create more jobs, especially for young women. This work is being undertaken through the SheTrades Rwanda Hub, co-owned by ITC and hosted by the Private Sector Federation Specialized Cluster.
